The Mirlex Group business is primarily involved in the plastics industry through its subsidiaries Poly Pacific Pty Ltd and Townsend Chemicals Pty Ltd. The group also includes several other entities which manage the groups property, investments, and charity interests. Proudly Australian, the group has been engaged in the manufacture of engineering plastics for over 50 years and has earned a prominent reputation in the industry.

Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for all aspects of the groups finance function. You will oversee an efficient accounting control system that accurately records and reports financial data for each of the group entities, ensuring compliance with taxation and statutory authorities.

You will have a hands-on approach to the role and be prepared to provide support and assistance with all department functions. You will also have the ability and experience to evaluate complex financial situations and provide high level strategies, outcomes, and solutions from both a business and shareholder perspective.

Key aspects of the role include:

· Providing strategic direction and structure to day-to-day financial operations

· Performing the company secretarial function for group entities

· Management of group cashflow, and insurance portfolio

· Management of customer credit

· Generation of monthly reports for the group businesses

· Liaising with external legal and accounting service providers

· Management of the business IT and integrated communication systems

· Management of the weekly and monthly payroll function

· Providing support and guidance to the finance team (four team members)

Skills and attributes:

· Minimum 2 years in a similar role

· Experience in a manufacturing environment

· Strong financial reporting and tax experience

· Experience in trust accounting and taxation advantageous

· The ability to think commercially and strategically

· Sound computer skills including Excel, Pronto and HR3 or similar software

· Strong ethics together with a respect for confidentiality and legacy

· Professional accounting qualifications (CPA or CA)
