Design & Digital Media Advisor


  • Part time, 3 days per week
  • 3 month contract, possible extension
  • Leading not-for-profit membership body


Our client is a not-for-profit, member-based organisation in Melbourne, known for its innovation, education support, peer-to-peer activities, and national representation.


Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and working closely with the Communications & Marketing Advisor, this role will be involved in a diverse range of communications activities and marketing projects.


You will provide technical and strategic advice on design, website, CRM and relevant IT areas, and contribute to the smooth running of design for events, campaigns and other activities.


Key support areas include:


  • Design, layout and delivery of internal and external publications, in digital and/or hard-copy format, including books, eNewsletters, brochures, factsheets, exhibition booth etc.
  • Liaison with publishers and other external contractors/agencies, as required to manage the production of materials and books
  • Website design and maintenance
  • Make recommendations regarding the online experience of our members to inform business systems improvement, advertising and sponsorship strategy.
  • Manage digital member and marketing campaigns, incorporating media content and marketing calendar to develop, plan and schedule digital media activity
  • Coordinate regular reporting and evaluation of social media/member metrics that affect digital platform engagement, traffic and target audiences of members, sector stakeholders and decision makers
  • Support corporate brand and development/maintenance of corporate styles


Key Selection Criteria:


  • Demonstrated expertise in graphic design and publication layout and prepress
  • Experience in website design (Wordpress), editing HTML and CSS essential.
  • Writing skills to support the production of content in online and hardcopy mediums
  • Excellent eye for detail, and demonstrated experience in juggling multiple priorities within designated timelines
  • Demonstrated photography, videography and editing skills
  • An understanding of social media best practice, including reporting/analytics. Business suite/paid placement knowledge advantageous
  • Self starter with a results and outcome driven personal style
  • An ability to juggle multiple projects, to work as part of a team and autonomously and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours when needed including interstate travel
  • Experience, knowledge and understanding of the general practice sector or broader health sector would be desirable
  • Experience with CRM platforms is strongly desirable, including coordinating customer journey and database management.
  • Previous experience of working in a member-based organisation would be desirable


This role is a part-time, 3 month contract, with a possible option of progressing to permanent role within the organisation. Commencing early December.
